The SGTDS offers a multi-disciplinary PhD program taking into account the interdisciplinary nature of the Gandhian Studies and Development Studies. The School currently offers a doctoral degree in Gandhian Studies and Development Studies, with an interdisciplinary focus on History, Economics, Political science, Sociology, Anthropology, Education, Statistics, and a number of other allied areas of Social Sciences. The PhD program is offered full-time and part-time, in accordance with the applicable regulations of Mahatma Gandhi University. Researchers enrolled in the PhD program will take a research methodology course, courses on Gandhian studies and development studies, as well as a course on the researcher’s field of specialisation.
